Session 1878 -
Exploiting Disruption to Build a Unicorn in Healthcare

Ali Parsa created London-based Babylon Heath in 2013 with the explicit vision of reinventing the world’s access to healthcare. Through Babylon’s AI-driven app, people based anywhere in the world can diagnose illnesses through simple questions and can gain instant video consultations with doctors and health care professionals. Parsa’s grand ambition is to create personal and predictive healthcare, using a range of wearable sensors that can monitor individual health and take action before it’s ever needed. By using disruptive technology and an innovative business model, Babylon can now offer health services to people wherever they are based in the world and has grown into a $2 billion unicorn within five years. In this session, Ali Parsa will use Babylon as an example to identify ways in which we can utilize disruption to break the rules in established markets.
