In the last few years, decision-making has come to the forefront of the agenda for leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators, as the pace of change has accelerated because of digitalization, open business models, and new technologies. As a result, the importance of decisions in organizations is coupled with a sense of urgency, which makes fast and high-quality decisions a strategic priority. Achieving decision quality is, however, challenging and, in the long run, can determine the success or failure of organizations, start-ups, and innovations. The aim of this extension is to bring together leading scholars in the field of strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation to discuss the extent to which the fundamental shifts described earlier have impacted decision-making and what best practices are emerging to support decision-makers in developing strategy, creating new firms, and innovating. The extension will be organized as a sequence of three panel sessions focused around key macro themes: Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
During the first two sessions speakers from top US, UK and EU Schools will present their recent research in this area. During the final panel, top scholars in three areas will present their insights on the state of the art in the area and discuss open research questions.
