The conference will officially begin with an opening reception on Thursday, June 13. However, there will be a workshop held during the day on Thursday.
A Paper Session is composed of 3 - 4 proposals that are presented sequentially by their author(s), with a short amount of time allotted for audience members to ask questions. Please click here for more information regarding a paper session.
A Common Ground Session is an interactive discussion between the author(s), audience members and a facilitator, centered around one common theme. Please click here for more information regarding a Common Ground Session.
A Developmental Sessionconsists of 4-5 proposals that are in early stages and have a common theme. They are led by a Session Mentor who is to provide guidance on how authors can further develop their research. Please click here for more information regarding a Developmental Session.
Due to the size of the conference and the complexity of constructing the conference schedule, it is very difficult for us to accommodate special requests. We do recognize that once in a while there are extenuating circumstances that prevent a presenter from being available on a specific day. In cases like these, please email the SMS Executive Office and let us know of your constraints and we will make an effort to take them into consideration when building the schedule.
Registration for the 2019 Special Conference in Frankfurt will open in late January 2019.
Yes, current SMS members recieve a reduced registration fee.
Yes, SMS conference registration fees include a special rate for student members. Registration fees for the Special Conference in Frankfurt will be published before registration opens in late January 2019.
You can request an invitation letter by contacting the SMS Executive Office at sms@strategicmanagement.net. Please be aware that visa issuance is outside of our control and often requires considerable time and effort from you.
Visa requirements are set by the country you plan to visit. It is your responsibility to check entry requirements with the consular officials of the countries to be visited well in advance of your trip. Please note, the SMS cannot guarantee the issuance of a visa.
