Laura B. Cardinal is the Exxon Professor of Strategy and Director of the Burkenroad Institute at the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She serves on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science. Previously, Laura Cardinal was the program and division Chair of the Technology and Innovation Management Division at the Academy of Management. Her areas of expertise include managing innovation and R&D capabilities, diversification and performance, and understanding the evolution and adaptation of control systems. Laura Cardinal is a National Science Foundation grant recipient and has published in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, and Journal of Accounting and Economics. Previously, she has served on the faculties of Southern Methodist University, Duke University, and University of North Carolina.
